release a sea turtle, Olive Ridley back into the sea, after being found and rescued alive in an abandoned fishing net
Staffs from Sea Turtle Conservation, Research and Education Station (Kadonkani) rescued a sea turtle alive after it was found entangled in discarded fishing nets in the waters, where located between the Htaung gyi tann turtle beach and the top side of Nga Mann turtle beach in Ahmar Sub-township, Bokalay Township, Pyapon District, Ayeyarwady Region, on 9 June 2025.
After this sea turtle was recused from the water where it was found, the staffs worked to free him from the entangled fishing net and let him rest him in a small pond to recover. This sea turtle was also recorded, and its carapace was 66.04 centimeter in length and 64.77 centimeter in width.
After recovering, the sea turtle was tagged with numbers MM-2623 and MM-2624 and released back into the sea from the safe water off the head of the Nga Mann turtle beach.
